The Three Reasons Mold Keeps Coming Back

Reason 1: The moisture source has not been identified or fixed

Mold cannot grow without moisture. Every recurring mold problem has an underlying moisture source: rising damp moving up through the wall from the ground, penetrating damp entering from outside through cracked render or a failed flat roof, condensation accumulating on a poorly ventilated wall, or a slow hidden leak from plumbing inside the wall cavity. As long as that source remains active, the wall material stays at the moisture level that allows the hyphae network to thrive.
